Move the Attacker Drill
Goal: Teach defensive players to move the attacker to cut off
passing lanes.
Description: Position one attacked and one defender in the
middle of a 10 X 5 yard playing area. Also place two players at the
ends of the playing area for a total of 4 players in all. The ball
is passed into play by one end player, who becomes the second
defender, to the attacker in the middle. The attacker's object is
getting the ball to the other attacker at the opposite end of the
playing field. The first defender moves to restrict the attacker's
passing option, the second defender quickly moves to cut off further
passing chances and help to steal the ball.

Slide Tackle Drill
Goal: Teach players safe and effective slide tackles.
Description: Two players, one with a ball, stand side by side
2 yards apart. On command, the players run down the field with the
player without the ball attempting to get in position to slide from
the side to take the ball away from the player dribbling the ball.
The player making the tackle lands on their back pushing the ball
away with their outstretched leg. (To avoid injury, make sure to
practice this skills on a soft surface. Players only perform this
skill only when in a position to make a clean slide tackle.)
