" EFFECTIVE
KICKOFF & PLACEKICKING MECHANICS"!!!
"KICKING THE BALL
The Part of the Ball to Kick - Kick the ball 1½-2"
below the center... Part of the Foot that Kicks the Ball - The top 2
inside eyelets of the kicking shoe are considered the shoe's "sweet spot"...
Laces - Face the goal posts... Ball Tilt and Angle - The ball is
straight up and down with a 1-2" tilt to the right. Increasing the
ball's angle lowers the ball's "sweet spot"... Rotation - End over end without a
wobble."

"THE FOLLOW THROUGH
Head - Held up... Eyes - On the ball until
after making contact with the ball, then the eyes can follow the ball...
Shoulders - parallel with the ground... Arms - Extend out for balance...
Plant Foot - Comes off the ground during the follow through... Hips -
Synchronized with the kicking leg rotating to the left as the kicking leg comes
across the body... Kicking Toe - Pointed... Ankle - Locked...
Kicking Foot - Bring the kicking foot to the opposite hand. The kicking
foot finishes at least waist high (the higher the finish, the higher the ball
goes) as the foot crosses the body.. Body - Balanced, but slightly turned to
the left... Ball Rotation - Faster spin means less distance. Make contact a
little higher and closer to the "sweet spot", to increase distance."
