Here's a couple of sections exactly as they
appear in
" Achieving Peak Performance"!!!
"Goals
Goals. Successful players set realistic, measurable and time-oriented
long-term and short-term goals. Goals that are too high set the player up
for failure. Constant failures effect the player's mental balance and
diminishes their level of play. To insure progress toward excellence, they
adjust steps within the goal, but keep the same target completion date.
Commitment. Successful players commit themselves to their goals and
their everyday activities to achieve these goals. Without daily
reinforcement, skills stay the same and sometimes regress, but rarely improve.
They know this, they never accept any reason why they can not work toward their
goals everyday."

Attitudes
Control. Successful players know they have control over their lives" they
are never a victim to situations or circumstances that come up. Successful
players have complete control of the their actions. Everything they say
and do is a conscious decision. The more players realize how much control
they have over their lives through their actions/thoughts, the more control the
player has over achieving their "peak performance".
Attitudes. Successful players make things happen through a positive
mental attitude versus hoping and waiting for something/anything to happen.
Successful players know they control their lives, the learn to make things
happen instead of wondering what happened.
