HowToPlay.com's "Essential Baseball Mechanics"!!!
Baseball coaches teach their
pitchers a routine after receiving the ball from the catcher with
men on base (a tip in this brochure). After this routine, the
pitchers know, at all times, whether they are throwing a pitch to
the catcher or making a pick-off move. Anytime the pitcher
loses their focus, they are required to step off the
rubber.
By following a well defined
routine, the pitcher focuses on one action at a time. Rarely
are they bothered by a runner on base who tries to make the
pitcher lose their motivation. They always know whether they
are pitching or picking off.

pitch location. The pitcher lifts their leg directly into the
"foot strike" position. ("Foot Strike" Position. Feet - in line
with the target… Knees - flexed… Shoulders - in line with the
target… Chest - over the knees… Glove Side Elbow - pointing at the

Motion. Stride Foot - moves forward
landing on the inside of the stride foot. The foot points to the
throwing side corner of the plate placing the pitcher in an
excellent "Foot Strike" Position.
