"RICOCHET DRILL
Goal: Teach the
catcher to trust their equipment and concentrate on the ball.
Drill:
Two players stand the front of the catcher. One player flicks a
ball at the catcher's mask while the other player throws a pop fly. The catcher
ignores the ball flicked at their head finds the pop fly and catches the fly.

" HANDS THEN
KNEES DRILL Goal: Teach catchers to move their hands to the ball,
then move
their knees to the ball. Drill: With one ball to the right and a few inches in front of the plate
and another ball in the same position to the left of the plate, the catcher gets
into a crouch behind the plate. The catcher lunges forward with their hands
covering one of the balls, then moves their knees to the ball.
Equipment is optional during this drill."
